Caleb's Adventure In Heaven Begins

On March 25, 2011, at 11:15 p.m, Caleb's journey on Earth ended & his adventure in Heaven began.  He left this world surrounded by family who love him very much.

I was holding him in my lap as he breathed his last breath. The pure peace that came over him as his whole body relaxed was astounding. We know he ran into Heaven totally healed & was greeted by people who love him.

This is the song we played directly after he passed.

Thank you for all your prayers. Please remember us in the days & weeks to come as we adjust to life without our sweet Caleb.

Angel & Richard

  4. I am so utterly sorry for your lose. As parents we are never prepared to have our child lead the way to Heaven. I know that Caleb is there now, and is free of any fear and pain that he was likely suffering from these past months. I will continue to keep your family in my prayers as you struggle to deal with the lose of such a precious spirit. I pray that God will bless you with strength, peace, and comfort, and with vivid memories that will last you a life time. I hope you find comfort in knowing that he will watch over you from Heaven, and that his spirit will always be close to you. Please feel free to ask anything of us. We will be happy to help in anyway possible. 972.375.7922

  13. Wow, I just started following earlier tonight. Still have caught up to date. Decided to follow & when I came back in I found this post. Our God is AMAZING in knowing ALL that we need and has us covered in every way. I know without a doubt that your precious Caleb is more free & more happy than he has ever experienced while here on this earth. God tells us that everything has a season & Caleb's season here on this earth is complete. But his new season is just beginning & last throughout eternity. God's Spirit has been your foundation throughout all of this illness & now it will carry you through the healing to come for each of you. You are a very strong family spiritually & it will be that strength that will continue to be your rock. Caleb's love for life & God will reveal the glory of God for many generations to come. May God carry you through this night & be your complete source of strength in many days & years to come. May You, O Father, bless this dear sweet family & continue to reveal your glory through them. May they find peace in my favorite script found in your word, Psalms 27:4 "One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the BEAUTY OF THE LORD and to seek Him in His temple." Caleb is now gazing upon the BEAUTY OF THE LORD........HOW AMAZING~<3 Love in Christ, Pammy:Psalms 27:4 Brandon Ms.

  16. I am not sure if this will help or hurt. When Dale was given a few months to live he said that God would either heal him physically by healing his body or spiritually through his death. Dale feels either will be a miracle for him. So, in the way we look at it Caleb got his miracle. It is not in the way we all hoped and prayed. We love you all and hope that our words bring comfort either now or later. May God be with you in these next months of your life as you grieve. Love Dale Lisa Jillian and Lydia Larkins

My deepest sympathies go out to you both. I have followed Caleb's story from the beginning and know that he fought a tough battle. It saddens me to know that his battle has now been lost, but I have peace that he is in the hands of our great Lord and is suffering no more. Reading your posts have given me the strength to deal with what lies ahead with my dad and I thank you for that. May the peace of the Lord Bless you both in the days and weeks ahead and may he continue to give you strength.

  24. To Angela and Richard,

I am deeply saddened for your loss, but I am so sure that Caleb's body, which was broken and hurting while here on Earth, is now perfect and unbroken and totally healed. Look at all of these posts and how God was able to use Caleb to inspire people all over the world to pray and to seek His face. Although we thought the battle was for his health, the real battle was for bringing people closer to God, so Caleb did win his battle. And I am so happy for Caleb that He is with the Lord Jesus Christ, where there will be no more death or pain or sorrow for him anymore. May Jesus usher Caleb into His kingdom with great peace and joy, and may Jesus bring great solace to your entire family as you start your healing journey. Much love to you all. I pray that His grace sustains you everyday. You are strong in Him.

I ache for you in your time of loss and you have my deepest sympathies. Your Caleb is a precious boy! He now has complete healing and is in total joy with our Lord. I imagine him running with God to the nearest stream to start fishing! While I know Caleb is in complete bliss, I also know that your hearts are broken. I cannot tell you how sorry I am. You have been in my daily prayers for 5 months and will continue to be as you walk through this healing process. It only through the Lord that healing can be found and it is plainly evident that your faith in Him is strong. May God bless you and Caden in every way and heal your crushed spirits.

I have followed Caleb's journey since the beginning (fellow MOPS mom and mother to Lincoln in Caden's ELC class). I just wanted to sincerely thank you for the courage it took to share such intimate details of Caleb's journey home, and remind you that the journey and the blog made a difference. Caleb made a difference. These words mattered.

Many nights I read and wept, wrestled, was challenged by, encouraged by, broken, uplifted and stirred. The Lord often used your words to change my heart for the day towards the things of Him. He reminded me often through Caleb that each day is to be lived in light of eternity rather than the fleeting circumstances of the day. Caleb made a difference. His life an work and joy and journey and smile and trials and triumphs were not in vain. The Lord used each and every one the way He works ALL things... for His glory and our ultimate joy.

As a parent, I cannot fathom the dark days ahead as you travel down the grieving road. I know that the God of the Universe will clothe you with a peace that passes all understanding and a love that surpasses all. He will hold you close and remain the thread that holds you together on the days it seems just too much. He will be the God of all His promises and reveal Himself in ways that could only be so by way of this journey.

My heart explodes with joy thinking of Caleb walking alongside his Lord and Savior pain free and in perfection. I know his welcome was so special and the angels are singing with joy!
    "I can only imagine"...

May the Lord bless and keep you in the days and nights ahead. You are covered in a mighty cloud of prayer and love and support from the fellow saints that walk alongside you.

    Welcome home, Caleb. Welcome home.

    In Christ, Mandy

In this journey we call life, God gives to us many treasures to enjoy because He Loves us. Richard and Angel you released your greatest seed back to God and you are truly great stewards over the gifts God has given to you. I Praise the Lord for the Victory and the celebration of the gift of Caleb. God used Caleb to teach us many wonderful lessons and to have child like faith. I want you to think on this, "To be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord." Caleb gets the priviledge of finishing his journey with Jesus. Praise the Lord we don't have to sorrow like those who don't have no hope. Love Quintin and Ludie and Family. Always in our Hearts and Prayers. "Shalom"

  39. Angela & Richard,
I won't pretend that I know what you are going through, most of us can't. But the one person who knows is Jesus. Although it's comforting to know that Caleb is safe, happy and healed with our Father in heaven, there is still a pain like no other that you are dealing with. Jesus went through a separation from the Father at the cross when He died in our place. It was something He never had to deal with but was necessary and the ultimate gift for us. Just as you have with this journey, continue to rely on God, know that Jesus is our advocate and knows what we are going through and God is not a man that He should lie...He will NEVER leave us nor forsake us.
While we may not understand why, continue to look towards the cross and toward the author and finisher of our faith.
Be encouraged that you both have already been a light to the world with your testimony. Caleb's journey may have brought many more to Christ through you both! Sometimes we can't see these things, but trust that our Father is working in you and those you touch with your story. Keep your eyes focused on His kingdom and all the rest will be added unto you. May our Father richly bless you and your family and continue to give you peace that passes all understanding, increase wisdom, knowledge and understanding into His Word. I will be praying for you all.
--Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

  52. I just learned of Caleb last evening, my heart was so deeply touched, words could not express, so I cried and prayed asking our Lord to give me words of comfort for you both. This morning Caleb was first on my mind and I knew in my spirit he has passed. I felt the sweet presence of our Lord ,he is free!flying! soaring! running! no longer encumbered by the fleshly body. that disease destroyed. The beautiful spirit, WHICH IS!! Caleb, was never,no not once touched by sickness,I then heard, in my spirit, all Caleb's questions have been answered by our Lord Jesus, WHO IS TRUTH. I thought back to the tears I had shed, when reading, of the conversation between Caleb and his Mom, the strength Angel showed, clinging to the faith! we must all live by when faced with what we don't always understand. The Word says, life and death is in the tongue, I speak life and a great comforting peace, that only God can give, into your lives, God has a great work ahead for both of you, you might already be feeling the tiny stirrings of a seed God has planted, giving life and taking what was meant for harm, and producing great good!! May God rain Blessings on you both!! Can't wait to meet you Caleb!

  53. Your sweet little Caleb has impacted SO many lives in his short, sweet time here on Earth. Oh how I wish I had had the honor of meeting him, on this side of heaven. What a special, strong, loving, brave little guy he was. Even while you walked through the most awful, heartbreaking storm a parent can imagine...both of you have handled it ALL with such grace, such faith and such strength. Caleb was blessed beyond belief to have y'all as his parents. I stand strong on the promise that our Father made to us: one day you, Richard, Caden and everyone who loves Caleb will be reunited with him in heaven. My heart aches with yours and for yours. I can't fathom the pain you are enduring right now. I pray for God to wrap you in His arms and to hold you. For Him to give you His strength and peace in your heartbreak. 62. I am so deeply touched by your willingness to share such intimate and private details of the struggle that Caleb, Angela, Richard, and Caden have endured for the past 6 months. The fact that you have openly posted not only the "facts" about Caleb's journey, but also included your reactions to them has been so humbling for me to read. Your reliance on His strength and courage in ALL circumstances is amazing. THANK YOU for allowing me to "intrude" on the trials and tribulations that the Huffines have experienced for the past 6 months. While I have fervently prayed for physical healing for Caleb, YOUR family taught me how to ELOQUENTLY accept HIS will. Please know that Caleb's life was NOT in vain as even my family of "strangers" has drawn closer to God in prayer as a result of your blog. Your family will continue to be prayed for. We will pray that God will continue to wrap His loving arms around each of you and fill the void that must be so vast. I am confident that He will, though. He must be so pleased with the manner in which the Huffines have served him, testifying to His glory!

It will be in my mind as I kiss my kids at night and remind me how precious they are and NEVER to take any time we have together for granted. I am so sorry for your loss but I admire the courage shown. I don't even really know what to say other than the fact Caleb's legacy is living on in me - A complete and total stranger. I came across this blog through a friends facebook page. And maybe that says something about the awesome and incredible kid he was on earth and continues to be in heaven. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
